In addition to the cultural villages visited by most tourists, Kondo Safaris offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in real village life. In Muguramena in the Lower Zambezi, where Kondo’s founder, Victor Kanzala grew up, you can stroll through the agricultural fields, speak with the nurses and doctors at the local clinic, join the school children in a game of soccer and become part of Zambian village life for a day.
At nearby Kondo Village, you’ll have the opportunity to delve into the culture and history of the region. Local women will teach you how to prepare native dishes and eat them with nshima, the staple food of Zambia. Elders from the community will enchant you with stories and songs of the Goba people, and local crafters will share their work with you. You can even choose to spend the night in one of the authentic huts!
